Exhibit No. 167

Luke Skywalker Hero

The Luke Skywalker lightsaber, known as the Hero, is seen only briefly in Episode 6 Return of the Jedi. This Exhibit is known as the cave build and is from the deleted scene where Luke builds his new lightsaber himself. The hilt is built by Dave Parkin and is the most accurate replica available, including the colouring, uneven rings, pommel and triangular D-ring.

What makes this Exhibit even more special is the unparalleled use of vintage parts as used in the actual prop. Significantly, the control box is one of a kind, using a vintage Casio LC-785 “A” for the reveal board, together with linage Death Star II brass, real grey rails, vintage Exactra switches and a vintage green-blue Vector clamp card. These additions were put together by Shane Craig. Altogether, this is one of the most faithful vintage reproductions of the prop in the world.
