Grif’s Custom Lightsabers Obi Flex

Continuing our Sabersmith Spotlight this week on @grifsabers! Sabersmith Spotlights are reserved for showcasing saber smiths who do end-to-end work, from designing and machining hilts to designing chassis and installing the electronics inside the saber. The sheer range and complexity of all the skills involved means that only a select few smiths at the top of the game can achieve such glorious feats of saber wizardry.

The third and final saber in this series is the one-of-a-kind Obi Flex. This custom-built lightsaber is a unique mash-up between the iconic Skywalker Graflex and the Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsabers, with a Graflex emitter and Obi-Wan grip and pommel. No effort was spared to make this lightsaber unique. From the intricate brass detailing and greeblies, to the shine-through mesh glass eye and custom blade plug, to the switch placements on the control box and clamp lever, to the perfect polish and finishing. Everything about this saber celebrates the heritage of two of the most legendary Canon hilts of the Star Wars universe. The lightsaber is installed with the latest CFX for Neopixel light and sound by @scarecrows_lightworks_llc.
