ExhibitQui Videt Omnia Lightsaber
Some slides in the original post were videos; still frames are shown here.
Perhaps at the pinnacle of custom saber building are the saber smiths who create sabers end to end: everything from designing the hilt and machining and weathering the parts to designing the internal chassis and installing the electronics. The skills needed for every part of this complex series of jobs call upon every technical tool in the saber smith’s arsenal, from hardware to software. Without a doubt, only a handful of smiths in the world are capable of such feats.
This Exhibit showcases a custom-made saber fully designed, machined and installed by @kotahcustomrelics. Named the Qui Videt Omnia, or the One Who Sees All, the lightsaber is built in steel, with a custom-machined emitter glazed in gold and silver with a glass-blowing technique. The bronzed crystal chamber and grip add weight and a sense of timelessness to the saber while the OLED suggests a modern weapon designed for a contemporary warrior. This duality is further brought to life by the weathered leather grip and custom Old Republic style pommel. Installed with CFX and a 28mm speaker for light and sound, the saber roars to life in your hand.
