In our last post for Grail Class Exhibit A, we take a look at the complementary saber pair side-by-side. The sabers are made as twins: the Tiger Saber, for instance, colours the top of the fins, while the Dragon Saber colours the bottom, symbolising the duality of air and earth. The Tiger’s design features the temple and outcrop, while the Dragon showcases the swirling clouds and waves, capturing all the elements of earth, air, fire and water.

In this set, the twin etched and hand-painted sabers are paired with a master Kyber crystal chassis: 18k gold for the Tiger and rhodium for the Dragon. The chassis features a removable battery, kill switch and easy-access USB and speakers. The sabers are installed with the latest Proffie 2.2 soundboard, configured for more than a dozen soundfonts and blade styles.

This unique saber set is the perfect example of a Grail Class Exhibit, combining the beauty of lightsaber art with the technological wizardry of science, all in a one-of-a-kind lightsaber creation.

Let’s first take a closer look at the Tiger Saber. It is meticulously double-etched across the whole saber before being hand-painted in intricate detail. The tiger glows orange and gold, menacingly crouched on an outcrop of moss and flowers. The artwork is designed to resemble classic calligraphy, with additional textures to create a 3D effect. The fins of the saber are etched with a temple design and tiger stripes to bring the full glory of this saber to life. Every little detail is considered, including the matte brown background meant to duplicate the feeling of parchment paper, adorned by vines and flowers. Who says lightsabers cannot also be works of art?

Moving on to the second saber in this set: the Dragon Saber. While the Tiger Saber is firmly planted on land, the Dragon Saber surges out from behind a sea of swirling clouds. The mystical Dragon is both furious and majestic, carrying the regal colours of blue and purple, burnished with gold.

The heavily textured saber is double-etched to give the 3D effect, which is brought to life by the hand-painted details: from the intricacy of the scales, to the billowy clouds and colourful koi. The dynamic energy of the dragon is the perfect complement to the steadfast vigilance of the Tiger.
