The Derelict was a lightsaber designed for the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. The original Derelict lightsaber was designed by Brad Lewis (@slothfurnace). It carries design cues from Obi-Wan Kenobi’s first saber, a shroud and red button reminiscent of the original Graflex lightsaber, and adds distinctive elements such as the control box and see-through glass eye. Since launch, the design has become an icon that has inspired many other lightsaber designs.

Exhibit 11.1 is a custom-made, one-of-a-kind lightsaber designed as a variant of the Derelict. Built by Excronix Sabers and installed by Gary Janota of @cantinadesigns, the hilt features an exposed crystal chamber and pays homage to the original Derelict design with its shine-through glass eye, control box, red button and shroud. The heavy weathering and battle damage by Austin Neil Dowdy of @astoria_workshop creates the effect of a saber that has seen a thousand battles and come through the other side.
